Grab the timeline and pull. The clock turns indigo and the whole window rewinds with you: tasks you hadn’t added yet disappear, finished ones come back unchecked, the timer you were running is running again. It isn’t a report about your day. It is your day, at any second.
- Fix what you forgot.Didn’t start the timer? Scrub to when you really began and press play. TodoLapse records it from then.
- Type an exact time.Click the pencil, type the hour and minute, press Return. Arrow keys nudge it.
- Snap back to now.Let go near the present and it snaps live. Or just press L.
Your whole day in thirty seconds.
Press ▶ beside the logo and the window plays back as a time-lapse. Tasks arrive, timers run, checkmarks land — with a running count of what got done and how long you actually worked. Switch to Week and the whole week replays the same way.
⌥T from anywhere.
An idea lands while you’re deep in another app — even one in full screen. Press Option-T, type it, hit Return. The panel appears right where you are, with no switching Spaces or windows, and gets straight out of the way. Pick a project or a day if you like. You don’t have to.
No forms. Ever.
Inside the app it’s the same. Click Add task, type, press Return and you’re already on the next line. ↑ ↓ move between tasks, Delete on an empty line removes it. Notes, priority and schedule wait in a side panel until you want them.

TodoLapse is written in Swift with SwiftUI and SwiftData. It opens instantly, follows your light or dark appearance, sits in the menu bar and answers to the keyboard. There’s no account to create and nothing to sync — your tasks live in a database on your Mac.

Questions.
What does the “lapse” in TodoLapse mean?
It’s short for time-lapse. Every task is recorded against the clock, so you can scrub through your day — or play it back in thirty seconds — like footage.
Can I track more than one task at a time?
Yes. Start as many timers as you need — with AI agents doing part of the work, you’re often running three or four things at once. Each task gets its own lane and its own clock, and the menu bar shows everything that’s running.
What happens to my work when I reschedule a task?
It stays where it happened. Work sessions remain on the day you did them and the task remembers its past dates. Only the plan moves.
I forgot to start the timer. Can I fix it?
Scrub the timeline back to when you actually started and press play — the session begins at that moment. You can also edit or delete any session in the task’s details.
Where is my data stored?
On your Mac, in a local SwiftData database. TodoLapse has no accounts and doesn’t send your tasks anywhere; the only thing it checks online is whether an update is available.
